Education traumatic brain injury This study examines the level of training provided on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in teacher training programs nationwide and how their institution’s current level of training impacts the knowledge of teacher candidates in the final year of their program. Research has shown teachers lack knowledge of the consequences of TBI and the related services students with TBI may require and that very little pre-service training regarding TBI is provided to educators. The current study revealed very little formal training on TBI being provided in teacher training programs. However, if provided, formal TBI training was more likely to be found within special education classes.
