Research suggests the FCB-TI’s scales – Briskness, Endurance, Sensory Sensitivity, Perseveration, Activity, and Emotional Reactivity should be related to stress and illness. This paper concerns the ability of FCB-TI traits to predict self-reports of illness outcome measures. In an effort to add to the knowledge base for neo-Pavlovian temperament traits, the analyses will move beyond the predictive powers of the individual traits by examining the predictive ability of two-trait interactions or non-additive effects, specifically FCB-TI traits Emotional Reactivity and Perseveration, as well as FCB-TI trait interactions with stress. Measures of total illnesses over the past year, perceived stress, and somatic anxiety were administered. Regression analyses will be utilized to test the hypothesis that FCB-TI interactions add to the prediction of somatic anxiety, illness, and injury self-reports, than are individual FCB-TI traits. 2010-07-09 English text Kent State University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=kent1278557105 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=kent1278557105 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
