Research conducted in India, Germany, and America reveal how culture, sustainability and fashion are innately related. However, it is the same fashion industry formed in the United States that is destroying culture on a global scale in the name of fast fashion. Through primary research including observations, interviews, and surveys, and secondary research, the researcher found that sustainability and craft are widely different in various countries, but are all impacted by fast fashion. The recommended solution is to introduce a collaborative, closed loop sustainable fashion system into businesses. The passion behind this research is based on of revealing how the fast fashion industry is destructive on a global scale. The preliminary findings are if the United States were to make sustainable fashion mainstream instead of fast fashion then cultures would be celebrated rather than consumerism. 2018-05-11 English text Kent State University Honors College / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ksuhonors1525679103485635 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ksuhonors1525679103485635 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
