Recently, city leaders and designers have attempted to utilize stadiums as a catalyst for gentrification in blighted urban neighborhoods. However, the stadium remains empty and unused for a majority of the year, rendering itself no less isolated from the vibrancy of the urban environment than its suburban relatives.
