Here in, comprehensive management model of municipal solid waste collection and transportation, “MIGRU,” is proposed, based on the Lean Six Sigma, VSM, and Servqual methods. This model considers and includes three important management systems for an efficient collection value chain: quality management, route management, and HR and community management. The proposed model was implemented and validated in the municipality of Lima, Peru, and the results showed that municipal costs were reduced up to 40%, solid waste was reduced in the streets, and routes and processes were updated and improved in addition to an improvement in the participation and environmental education of citizens. Thus, correct management of the proposed model’s three general approaches to a very positive municipal impact at economic and environmental levels, without the investment of excessive amounts of money observed in first-world countries. 2021-06-07T17:24:36Z 2021-06-07T17:24:36Z 2020-01-01 info:eu-repo/semantics/article 21945357 10.1007/978-3-030-25629-6_149 http://hdl.handle.net/10757/656369 21945365 Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 2-s2.0-85070009666 SCOPUS_ID:85070009666 0000 0001 2196 144X eng https://www.springerprofessional.de/en/comprehensive-management-model-for-solid-waste-collection-and-tr/17009540 info:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccess application/html Springer Verlag Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing 1018 959 966 |
