Description
Summary:碩士 === 文化大學 === 實業計劃研究所農學組 === 60 === (1)The species of Litchi tsed in the stily are Taichund Hak Ip. and Kaohsiund No-Mai-Tze. (2)The sampling time starts from April 1971 to June 1971. (3)Anatomic experiments are spplied to study the change of the fruit in growing into full size. (4)The fruti is in the chape of a bar at first, and then becomes clliptical and then, finally, becomes round. The internal growth begins with the longitudinal growth of the seeds which is faster in the first stage, followed by the acceleration of the traverse growth, and finally the growth in thickness of the aril becomes the fastest, so that it becomes round in shape, while the seeds remain elliptical. (5)The growth of the aril begins with a band around the seed stalk, and thickens at the groove from the third week. After the fourth week the growth becomes isotropic and homogeneous in all directions. However, when it covers half the seed, its bottom has already assumed a thickness, while its upper part is still thin, and both sides of the groove crack, so that the groove serves as the central line to divide the aril into two. Even when the aril grows up to the top, there is still a visible crack at both sides of the groove, i.e. the aril is still two pieces, while the original crack becomes invisible due to the growth of the aril thickness. When these two pieces of aril arrive the top, they continue to grow to the opposite direction, resulting in two cases:One side may be stronger than the other in growth, so that the stronger side covers the weaker side and continues to grow like a man joining his hands in front of his breast making a Chinese style grectingl. Or, both sides may be equal in strength and they extend into each other and intervene, like our fingers do. Such is rarer the case. (6)The growth of the aril is slower in the first two weeks. however, starting the fourth week, the weekly growth becomes even and isotropic, and its thickness increases extremely rapidly only in the final week before maturation.
