Due to the fact that soft decision decoding needs not to go through the process of quantization, soft decision decoding won't lose information. The performance of soft decision decoding is better than that of hard decision decoding. The main object of this thesis is to study soft decision decoding on linear block codes. It does enlarge the effective decoding range and provides an relatively easy decoding scheme. At last we discuss the error condition of soft decision decoding.
