The research of this thesis center's on the comuter application in the whole architectural proFession. However, the first practical use of computer in this scope chosen to he studeid is the computer aided drafting in architecture and this will form the basis for the future development of the research to extend over to the whole architectural profession.
In this reseach the basic assumption is that a completed drawing is assembled by graphie components. The idea came from the assembling line in the electronic plant. The assembly of graphic components is just same as the assembly of electronic parts. The working effieiency depends on the working schedule of the assembling line--assembly schedule.
This thesis consists of five chaptpers:
Chapter I: To present the motivation, purpose and scope of the research.
Chapter II: To analyze and categorize the graphic components in the arechitectural drawing and make out the assembling rules to match the operation of the microcomputer.
Chapter III: To write programs according to the basic operation functions specified in Chapter II. The programs will be explained in the appendix.
Chapter IV: To justify the feasibility by practical examples of system operation.
Chapter V: Conclusion and suggestions.
The active participation of the architectural professionals in the research of computer aided drafting system will upgrade its specialization in architecture. As the result of this research, due to the lise of personal computer eqilipinents, it will make the use of computer in the architectural profession simpler, easier, and much more accessible. In addition, because there is extended data base in this graphic system, it will make the use of the system mare extensive through the participation of the related professionals in the research and developoment.
