It originates from 20'' America and then widely prevails all over the advanced countries since world War II. On account, of the polarization effect brought by its strong commercial glamor, it gradually plays an important role in city space structure and becomes a part of our life.   Basically, due to our life style, until how we didn''t appear these large-scale retail centers and the relevant study is vacant, but, in the past few years, both of government and people (private insiitutions) have strong intention to get involved in this field, so this study is herewith to explore the development feasibility in our country and furtherly draw out a development strategy to be the forerunning and preliminary study in this field, it includes.   1. To arrange and analyze the management experience of other countries'' shopping centers for our lessons and references.   2. To realize the metropolitan consumption character through the consumers'' questionnaire results.   3. To analyze the feasibility of developing Taipei Metropolitan Shopping Center by PFA model.   4. To build up AHP evaluation model to draw out positioning & deve lopment strategy.   5.
