Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立海洋大學 === 水產食品科學研究所 === 79 === Tilapia and Penaeus monodon are two major culture species in Taiwan. However, the micro-nutrient requirements in both species are unknown. The main objective of this study was to determine the optimal vitamin D requirements for these two species. In Experiment Ⅰ, eight vitamin D3 levels, ranging from 0 IU to 2100 IU/Kg diet at a 300 IU increment were fed to tilapia hybrid (Oreochromis niloticus x o. aureus) for 16 weeks. Growth results indicated that the tilapia required at 374.8 IU vitamin D3/Kg diet to yield maximum growth. In Experiment Ⅱ, in order to investigate the optimal vitamin D requirement for Penaeus monodon Ten vitamin D levels (0.1, 0.5, 2.5, 12.5, 62.5 mg vitamin D2 and D3/Kg basal diet) were fed to Penaeus monodon. Additionally, methylated cod liver oil was used for deficient diet control. The maximum growth of Penaeus monodon was required at 0.02 mg vitamin D3/Kg diet and 0.11 mg vitamin D2/Kg diet, respectively. Methylated cod liver oil was significantly lower than that of basal diet.
