Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 物理學系 === 81 ===   In this thesis, two types of experiments have been performed. The first one is studies of noise characteristics of 808nm high-power laser diode. The experimental results are that. when noise frequency is below 1GHz, the total output RIN of the laser diode is smaller than the main mode RIN, and that the total output RIN will decrease as the laser power is increased. Furthermore. HPD1005-TO3 type laser diode, which is temperature controllable with a TE cooler, has been used to repeat the above experiment. The experimental results show that the temperature will affect the total output RIN and the single mode RIN of the laser diode.   The second is to study the spectral characteristics of a 1.55μm MQW DFB laser diode. The experimental results show that. this kind of laser diode has a good single frequency, and could be used in the fiber communication in the future.
