The method of surface densification was to impregnate with phenol formalde- hyde adhesives and compress only the surface layers of lumber from japanese fir (Cryptomeria japonica) and china fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata ) grown in Taiwan. It's result indicates the surface hardness of lumber which surface densification of japanese fir and china fir increase 2.6 times. And its bending strength increase 1 times with untreated wood. It was to say, surface densification be able to improve effectively surface properties of coniferous softwoods. on the base,Broad-leaf wood replace by conifer- ous softwood to supply furniture produce and room decorate was not dream. It was effective way. Ching-Mu Tasi 蔡金木 1993 學位論文 ; thesis 70 zh-TW
