Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 農業機械工程學系 === 81 === Recycling of the generating heat from biomass is an effective handling process for the massive agricultural wastes . The basic combustibility of agricultural wastes such as corn cobs , rice hulls , stalks , and etc, were studied to facilitate the design of an incinerator . In this research , corn cobs which contains high volatile matter , low ash content and fast combustion rate was found to be the most suitable material for the fixed grate incinerator . As to the combustion of rice husks which contain high ash content and slow combustion rate , the movable gate and ash cleaning process were found necessary . Due to the humid climate and highly utilization of farm land in Taiwan , the agricultural wastes are usually generated with high moisture contents. This study aims directly at the influence of wet corn cobs upon the combustion efficiency and tries , therefore , to solve the problem of ignition . Also ,the inside temperature of incinerator was predicted through an analytical model . The accuracy of prediction was as high as 94 % after validation by experiment . When the corn cob furnace is feeded with rice hulls instead , the difficulty arised because of heavy falling dust and congestion of the incomplete burning ash , which may need further studies.
