Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 護理學研究所 === 81 === The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of a nursing educational intervention on the cognition and worry status of mothers of children with biliary atresia and on the nutritional status of these children. The study adopted a one group pre- and post-test design of quasi-experiment method. The participants were mothers and their children with biliary atresia who were treated at one of two hospitals, a Medical Center and a pre-Medical Center in Taipei. The samples consisted of 23 mothers and their children. The nursing educational intervention had three components:the knowledge of biliary atresia and nutrition, the diet teaching, the nutritional assessment. The same questionnaire were used for pre- and post-test both. The pre- test was given before the nursing educational intervention. The nursing educational intervention was reinforced one month after pre-test. The post-test was given two months after pre- test. There were statistically significant changes in the scores from the pre- and post-test of congition and worry status of mothers. The nursing educational intervention appeared to have a positive effect upon mothers' cognition and worry status. There was no significant change in nutritional status of children. The nursing education appeared to have no effect upon children's nutritional status. The results of the study provide understanding for caring of children with biliary atresia and their mothers.
