The study also investigates the influence of computer user interface and input device on three- dimensional modeling process. With the application of a 3D digitizer on geometric objects, this research studies the connection from traditional design method to computer-aided modeling process. Since a 3D digitizer is able to locate x-, y-, and z- coordinates directly, computer-aided modeling process can be simplified by reducing operational errors and burden to assist corporating architectural creative thinking and related spatial representation. A 3D digitizer can be applied to improve the efficiency of a simulation environment, input device, user interface, data-sharing, and the retrieval of modeled data. This paper concludes four methods: 1) first two methods bridge traditional and computer modeling processes; 2) the other two methods improve computer modeling efficiency.
