transputer-based multiprocessor system. We design and
implement the communication manager which can be attached to
the operating system of a reconfigurable transputer-based
multiprocessor system. In order to achieve a higher
performance, the multistage interconnection network concepts
are applied. The performance of several types of
multistage switch boxes are analyzed and some factors are
concluded. The information for implementating an efficient
CM can be provided by analyzing these relative factors. The
experimental results in a 5 x 3 mesh topology and a
hypercube topology are conducted to evaluate the system
performance.
