In recent years, Hazan & Shaver have focusde their atten- tion on attachment styles of adults. They suggested that adult romantics love is also an attachment proc- esses and has three different styles of attachment. People with different attachment style experienced somewhat different feelings and emotions toward their partner. We suspected the reasons that they have dif- ferent feelings and emotions they have are because they interpret other''s behavior differently. Evidences from studies of marital interaction gave further supp- ort for this speculation. Happy couples makes more benign attribution for their partner''s behavior and the feelings and emotions they have are very similar to those of secure adults''. Unhappy couples make less benign attribution, and the feelings they have are very similar to those of avoidant adults''. Therefore we hypothesized that secure adults may have similar attribution patterns as happy couple and avoidant adults'' attribution patterns should be very similar to those of unhappy couples''. As to ambivalent subjects, they often experience strong love and hate emotions, we speculated it is because they make benign attribut- ion for other''s positive behavior and give extremely negative evaluation for other''s negative behavior. The results basiclly confirmed our hypotheses about secure and avoidant adults, but the hypothesis of ambivalent adults was not supported. Other findings and implications are discussed.
