In order to understand the primary mechanisms influencing their infrared transparency , polarized Raman scattering was carried out to study the structure of these glasses . From the peak position of the Raman spectra , we will identify the different types of vibrational motion in the glass .Compare the Raman shift between the glass and the crystalline fluoride , we are able to obtain the coordination number of their structure . The relationship between the low frequency Raman shift( Boson Peak ) and the degree of disorder in glass will be discussed in light of the existing theory .
