Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 光電(科學)研究所 === 82 === On the basis of extended Jones matrix method, a simple method is presented for computing the electro-optical characteristics of the closed cylinder of nematic liquid crystal. We are the first to study the closed cell where the incident angle of light is arbitary. In our simulation, we found that the viewing angle of Regular CCLC is -55 degrees to +55 degrees where the contrast ratio exceeds 5,and the Conical CCLC has very high contrast ratio (about 220) at normal incident. We think that with a suitable choice of liquid crystal material and geometry of CCLC, an excellent liquid crystal display (LCD) and device can be made.
