碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 化學學系 === 82 === The stem of cassia fistula L. was extracted with methanol for three times. The extract was par- titioned with n-butanol and HO. The n-butanol ext- ract was purified by repeated chromatography on si- lsicx gel , O.D.S. gel and Sephadex LH-20. Twenty- eight compounds have been isolated from the extract of Cassia fistula L. Those were four long chain compound, there glycerol derivative , two sterols, one aromatics compound, one benzoquinone , three anthrquinones, one stibene compound, one dihydroch- alcone, one flavanone, two flavones, five flavan-3- ols , and two proanthocyanidins . Among them, two glycerol derivatives and two proanthocyandidins are new compound.
