The former studies on the role and status of the women are almost concentrated on the cases in urban formal sector or rural area. On the contrary, this study focus on the married women of lower income and lower education degree in informal sector (simple commodity production). The married women in small-scale garment industries posit- ively participate in labour process, nevertheless, it is under the influence of patriarchical ideology that they have no way of promoting their socio- economic status.
