| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 商學系 === 82 === R&D work very often is neglected by Taiwan''s businesses, of
which 97 % are composed of small-medium sized businesses. They
not only lack of willingness to engage in R&D work, but also
are impeded by their innate factors--such as capital
shortage, human resources insufficiency and facilities &
technology limitation. The development of joint R&D pro-
vides a feasible approach for businesses to circumvent those
abovementioned difficulties by sharing risks and costs among
members. This research was developed from four aspects: the
for- mation of organization, the characteristics of
organization, the characteristics of manufacturer and
performance of organization. Four main points sorted in this
research will be indicated as following: * To study the
motivation of businesses participating in joint R&D. * To
evaluate the performance of companies in bicycle and shoe
industries after participating in joint R&D. * To find out
the factors which impair participation of a business in
joint R&D, through descriptive statistic method and factor
analysis. * To compare the impairing factors among
different indu- stries.
