Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 82 === The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the adhesion behavior of a elastic colloid to a flat plate theoretically, and the results will be applyied to study the adhesion of white blood cell. The necessary conditions for the white blood cell adhesion onto the vessel wall will be discussed. With the Hertz contact theory of linear elasticity, and the lubrication theory, the relationships of elastic deformation and pressure force, and that of drag force during the adhesion period are established. For the interaction force between colloidal surface and plate surface, the van der Waals force and the electrostatic force will be considered in the above model. From the results of numerical simulation, it is found that the greater the initial kinetic energy of colloidal particle owned, the smaller the separation distance between particle and plate surface induced, and the greater tendency of particle rebounded. Due to the easier storge of elastic energy, the separation distance will become larger for these more deformable colloidal particle; i.e. , the white blood cell. A larger van der Waals force can pull the non-contact cell more closely to the plate surface. For the experimental part, the surface characteristics of white blood cell is investigated, by A F M , it is found that these are some extrasive parts around the peripheral side of the cell, and the surface of the cell is not so smooth as expected.
