First, we design a method for weaving 3-D I-shape woven fabric and manufacture the mechanisms with special reference to the Shedding, Picking, Beating, Take-up and Let-off of the loom. Then, it is finished by changing the motion of drawing and shedding to obtain four types of 1-shape carbon preforms with various interlacing structures in the flange and web junction. Finally, the resin transfer molding (RTM) technique is used to produce the carbon / epoxy composites. It has explored the weaving method and mechanisms of the loom in this study, and then has discussed the physical and mechanical properties of the four types of composites with various interlacing structures in the junction. It is according to the results of experiment.
