Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 83 === Planetary gear trains can provide several speed ratios by means of selecting different clutches and brakes, they are widely used in the automatic transmissions of automotives. The purpose of this work is to develop a systematic methodology for the design of gear-type automatic transmissions for automotives. The basic characteristics of automatic transmissions are first studied such that admissible gear trains can be synthesized from the atlas of geared kinematic chains. Next, each gear train is qualitatively analyzed to list the maximum number of speed ratios for automatic transmission. Then, based on the feasible gear dimensions, a method is developed for the determination of clutching sequence. Furthermore, a method for the arrangement of clutches and brakes is also proposed for the generation of transmission configurations. Finally, according to the given speed ratios, a systematic procedure for the kinematic design of gear-type automatic transmissions is successfully developed. The methodology of the performance analysis is used for the evaluation of generated automatic transmissions. The results of this work are of benefit to the design of automatic transmissions for automotives.
