Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 森林學研究所 === 83 ===   The distribution of Crotalaria similis Hemsl. in Heng-chun area, the plant communuties in which it occurs, and the fators limiting its distribution were studied, using a 48 sample plots on nine belt transects. Ten environmental factors were recorded for each sampled plot. The plant community were classified using two-way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN), and the relationship between the environmental gradients and vegetation was analyzed with canonical correspondence analysis(CCA). The results of this study provide for a data base that will be useful to Crotalaria similis conservation.   According to TWINSPAN, The vegetation can be divided into three types:   A、Digitaria ciliaris-Digitaria mollicoma type   B、Arundinella setosa-Eragrostis cumingii type   C、Vitex rotundifolia-Lepturus repens type   Canonical correspondence analysis on the major environmental factors influencing the distribution of Crotalaria similis. The first axis revealed a high positive correlation to slope and stony soil. The second axis contained soil NH3-N and soil electrical conductivity. According to the analysis of the distribution maps, the range of Crotalaria similis is restricted in only three pieces of cloth. The habit at Crotalaria similis is decreasing in the study area because of the increased planting of forest plantation and grazing. These disturbances threaten the survival of this Crotalaria similis population.
