This model is based on the lumped - parameter analysis, the system is divided into five control volumes, and a set of firstorder ordinary differential equations is derived from the conservation equations of mass, energy and momentum. The set of equations can be used to the calculate the instantaneous temperrature, mass and pressure in different parts of the system and investigate the influence of operating parameters on engine performance.
