Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程技術學系 === 83 === During 1985 Mexico Earthquake, structural pounding is one of the major reasons for the collapse of many buildings. This collision, commonly called ''structural pounding'' occurs during an earthquake when due to their different dynamic characteristics, adjacent buildings vibrate out of phase and there is insuficientseparation between them. This study investigates the structural pounding between multispan ductile moment resisting frames. It is found that among theadjacent structures under pounding, the structure with longerperiod and lighter weight will have it dynamic responseThe parameters of total ductile energy dissipation, plastic hinge rotation of members, and maximumthe most sensitive to the structuralheir changes under pounding are valuableresistance evaluation and retrofit. In addition, it is found that linking the adjacent structuresseparated with construction joints is an effective way tomitigate the pounding damage for the adjacent structures withsimilar story mass and building period.
