There are 2316 children who come from nine of the public kindergarten in Taipei area as the pretests''''''''and retests''''''''samples of this study. After obtaining the validity and reliability of the instruments, 58 children who come from one kindergarten are selected as the sample of this study. The research method and data collection of this study were teacher''''''''s rating and the time samping of observation in the free play. A full exploration of data will undergo the following statistical analysis: frequency, factor analysis, Cronbach α reliability analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation, one-way analysis of variance, multivariate analysis and multiple regression. The major findings are as the following: 1.The playfulness dimensions have reorganized in this study, they are:joy of affection, cognitive spontaneity, physical spontaneity, activity level and social spontaneity. 2.The result has shown that there is a significant positive relationship between the playfulness and social play of sabjects. 3.The prediction of subjects'''''''' social play by playfulness is 73.15%, and the union prediction of social play by the dimensions of playfulness are: joy of affection, social spontaneity and activity level.
