The study employed the survey method, the observational method, and interviews. The subjects of the study were 1089 fourth grade and sixth grade students sampled from 8 elementary schools in Taipei City. The instrument was " The Elementary School Children''''s Learning Questionnaire ". Based on the results of the intrinsic motivation of 32 classes, the higher and the lower intrinsic motivation classes were identified for further observations and interviews. The data from questionnaire were analyzed using t-test, Hotelling''''s T2, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis.
