Optimum PIDl controller tuning data based on the model and minimum IAE criterion were obtain via Powell searching technique, and these data were then empirically correlated into several regression equations by a least-square method. Thus, PIDl controller tuning based on the model can easilly be obtained by the calculation of these correlated equations. Simulation with a reset-feedback PIDl control algorithm has demonstrated that the proposed tuning method based on the first-order model can provide better results than classical controllers ,especially for the those processes having very largedead time.
