Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 化學工程學系 === 84 === In this project, we intend to investigate:(I). the solubilities/miscibilites of typical phase transfer catalysts of quaternary ammonium salts in insert solvents of dipole moment 0-4 debyes;(II). The determination of the association constants of the quaternary ammonium cations with various common anions by conductometry; and (III). the partition coefficient and the extration constantsof the quaternary ammonium ion pairs in systems of various organic/aqueous phases. From the above experimental results, we can thoroughly understand the effectsof the structures and sizes of the quaternary ammonium cations and their counterions and the effects of the solvent properties (electric constant , dipole moment,solubility parameter) on the association , pratition and extration of the quaternary ammonium ion pairs. Thus we may find out their quantitativecorrelations. These are the fundamental studies for understanding various phenomena in phase transfer catalysis, and are useful for selecting proper solvents as main as main constituents in the organic phase.
