Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東技術學院 === 機械工程技術研究所 === 84 === In considering that our country is going to join the WTO( World Trade Organization ), and the trade liberalization, there must be strong impact to the traditional agriculture of our country. To improve agricutural productions and processings, especially the automatization, the lotus-seeds sheller is one of the efforts for the goal. In the past, the quantity of planting never got increased due to the restriction of the manpower, weather, and water supply. We have to improve the processing methods and let mechanization increase the competitiveness of Taiwan. For the moment, setting razor inside a modern mold was the method for lotus-seeds shelling. This project was to create the lotus-seeds sheller by searching the basic factors of the lotus seeds, for example, diameter, ratio between long and short axes, moisture content and destruction of the lotus seeds. We set the razor inside an aluminum mold, install a soft transport belt above the mold. Then the mold and the belt had a speed difference;it makes the lotus seeds roll. When lotus seeds roll pass the razor, they were shelled. Installing a spring in the rear part of the mold makes the lotus seeds spring out. Therefore the skins and the seeds could be separated. We got a very satisfying result in a test of the lotus-seeds sheller. The conclusion was that for short lotus seeds, the shelling rate was 100% when tangential speed was 1.17m/s; when the tangential speed was 0.39~2.73m/s, the shelling rate was 94%. The production rate for the above conditions was 187kg/ hr. For long lotus seeds, when the tangential speed was 0.39~1.56m/s, the shelling rate falls down to 80% linearly. As the tangential speed was added to 2.34m/s, the shelling rate falls down to 74.7%. keyword: Lotus seeds, Shelling Machine, Speed Difference Principle.
