These data are collected from "The Elderly Long- term Care Survey" and "Heal th of The Elderly and Long-term Care Survey" in 1993 and 1994.Both of them were longitudinal research, and the data which age is over or equal to 65 and register at the four Taipei communities (n=1448). Using multiple and logistic regression to analysis these data, to explore if perceived health, physical function and chronic condition deteriorate that will increase the utilization of clinic services and hospital admission. After controlling demographic characteristics, enabling resources, previous health status, previous use of medical services and the interaction between health insurance and residence, the elderly that had chronic condition deteriorating utilize the clinic services that will be increased significantly;on the other hand, the elderly that feel healthier will decrease to visit clinic services. In other ways, Perceived health deteriorating, chronic condition deteriorating and physical function declining will raise the chance of hospital admission, but when the elderly feel healthier will decrease. All in all,the health status changes among the elderly are the main factor to influence the elderly to utilize the medical services when we control the other variables.
