Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 國際事務與戰略研究所 === 84 === The term "Modernization" has become one of the most significant term inChina's political, economic, social and cultural structures, ass with other underdeveloped countries. Yet still, Chinese Communists' concept of moderniza-tion is confined to the Marxism, Lennism and Maoism. It still has considerabledifferences from the concept of modernization used by Western capitalist coun-tries and Non-Communist counries, such as regarding the process of modernizat-ion and the comprehension of modern society, although it has a similar basic concept of modernization as "the social progress underdevelopment counties". This thesis is primarily aimed structinize the nature of the "SocialistModerrnization" promoted by Chinese Communist,as since 1978 they have beenpromoting reforms and liberation. What would be the effects and influences of the process of modernization in the Mainland Chinese Society? The research out-line of this thesis is as follows: Chapter1: Introduction Chapter2: TheAdjustment of the theories of the "Socialist Modernization" Chapter3: Theprocess of the "Socialist Modernization" Chapter4: The major effectsandinfluences of the "Socialist Modernization" Chapter5: The dillema of the "Socialist Modernization" Chapter6: Conclusion As seen from thevariousfactors concluded by this research Chinese Communiatsadopt the basicpractice of "one center and two essencial points" for their policyof modernization, toimprove their disadvanteged power. Except the concreate measurementsof reformsand liberation, however, under the monopoly of "the four Insistences" ChineseCommunists only allow administration reforms. To solve the Legitimacy problemsof their regime by means of economic development, they deliberately avold conceptual and political modernization. As a matter of fact, for an underdevel-opment country, modernization heavily relies on the political development. Thedistribution of economic interest effected in the process of modernizationdemands easy communication procedures for interest, and this reqires the transition of political systems in response. From this viewpoint,in their future process of modernization, the key factor of China's "Socialist Modernization" de-velopment is how they deal with political modernization. Without solving this problem, the Chinese Communists can't accomplish the "Socialist Modernization",and it will in turn endanger the legitimacy of their political power.
