Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智工學院 === 電機與資訊工程研究所 === 84 === Study of coupling effects due to antennas mounted on complex structures and aircraft is very important in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and interference (EMC/EMI). In this thesis, the geometrical theory of diffraction(GTD) is used for the sudies of coupling effects between antennas mounted on complex structures and aircraft such as ships, missiles, and airplanes. First the validity and accuracy of the GTD method are checked by comparing the electric field distributions between dipole antennas and a metallic plate with those obtained from the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The comparison between results obtained from GTD and FDTD methods shows excellent agreement. The GTD method is then used to predict the radiation patterns for a antenna mounted on a complex structure and to calculate the coupling effects for antennasmounted on missiles and airplanes. All the results in this thesis are directlyobtained from the numerical calculations without using the experimental measurements. The GTD method is very useful in the design and study of EMC/EMI problems without thorough measurements. It is extremely cost-effective and time- efficient.
