It also confirmed that which pollutant inducing asthma attack in different age group was different. Those Taichung City citizens who visited Taichung Veteran general hospital, Chung Shan medical college hospital and Provincial Taichung hospital due to asthma attack, 4799 persons visiting and 764 persons admitted, were studied. The corresponding period of month mean concentration of SO2, NO2, CO, O3 and PM10 were collected from two air monitor stations in the Taichung City , Si Twun station and Tsun Ming station. We analyzed the above patients stratified into 4 groups according to age.The 4 group patients either emergent visiting or emergent admission were matched with corresponding 5 ki-nds of air pollutant month mean concentration to obtain Pearson'scoefficient and multiple regression analysis. The number of the hospital emergency visiting increased while PM10 mean month concentratio-n increased, especially among persons who were aged below 61 years old. But those who aged above 61 years old admitted to emergency ward seemed to be significantly correlated woth ambient air concentration of NO2, O3 and CO . Among persons who aged between 15 and 60 years old, only NO2 and PM10 were significantly correlated with emergency room visiting. In spite of insignificantly statistical correlation, PM10 was meaningful for those whom aged 15 about hospital asthmatic emergency visiting in comparsion with other pollutant. In addition, emergency asthma hospitalization admission about patients aged above 61 years old was significantly statistically negatively correlated with O3 .Regression analysis also demonstrated a statistical association between asthma hospital emergency visiting and PM10 pollution. The study results suggest that PM10 pollution plays a role in asthma emergency visiting and was a highly significant factor , we could predicate the severity of asthma attack and incidence of emergency asthma visiting . Thus our study support that asthma attack was influenced by the outdoor environmental factor-PM10. Liu Kur-Hwang 呂克桓 學位論文 ; thesis 4 zh-TW
