Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 應用數學系 === 85 === This paper presents a quantitative scheme forevaluating and improving the performance of networktopology. First, from the status of a network, we define aset of evaluating parameters and propose strategies based on the evaluating parameters. According to the evaluating results, we canimprove the network topology by using the scheme weproposed. In plainly, we improve the network topologyby enlarging the buffer size of switching nodes, increasing the bandwidth of links, and re-dimensionthe connection of links. From a network manager's view, we must evaluatethe network topology by considering the entire networkperformance. So, we adopt three parameters : throughput, packet delay time, and packet loss ratio, as the performance indices to evaluate if the proposed schemecan improve the network topology. Finally, we use simulation to verify that theproposed scheme can improve the network topology, whichresults in increasing the entire network throughputand reducing the packet delay and packet loss ratio.
