Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 環境工程與科學系 === 85 ===   Sewage flowing in natural water way is purified by organisms in water body and muddy bed, especially in the late. because its high concentration of organisms. Therefore, the BOD removal of sheet flow sewage is dominated by the area of the bottom bed. In order to increasing the area of bottom bed, this paper dredged two 25-meter channels and put 6 layer or PVC plate in them. The sewage in natural way pumped into channels and aerated.   Experiments were carried out to study the effects of dissolved oxygen(DO), hydraulic detention time, (HRT). volumetric loading, the kind of channel and other kinds of parameter on the removal of pollutants. Results indicated that the removal of pollutants was dominated by DO in water, hydraulic detention time, (HRT) and the concentration of influent . For Example, In aerobic condition, the removal of BOD was 70.8%, but in the anaerobic condition, Its'' only 26.5%. One relation was derived:   In aerobic condition:   the percent of BOD removed = -23.534+7.33HRT+0.57(Cin)   In anaerobic condition:   the percent of BOD removed = -23.534+7.33HRT+0.57(Cin)
