Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 85 === A multi-speed drive hub is one of important components in the transmission system of bicycles. The purpose of this work is to develop a systematic methodology for the deisgn of five-speed bicycle drive hubs. The basic characteristics of bicycle drive hubs are first identified such that all N-link admissible planetary gear trains can be synthesized fromt he catalog of (N-1)-link geared kinematic chains. Next, a method is proposed to determine the feasible five-speed sequence tables for each gear train. Then, an analytic method is formulated to synthesize the gear ratios and gear teeth according to a set of desired speed ratios. A computer program is further developed for the automatic analysis the transmission performance of drive hubs. In this investigation, we have successfully constructed atlas of nine practical design concepts for five-speed bicycle drive hubs. The results of this work are of benefit to the development and design of new multi-speed bicycle drive hubs.
