In order to verified the feasibility of this test system, an 1/80 scaled model an 165,000 DWTship is constructed and considered in the experiment. The maneuver-ing performance to be estimatted in the project includes the initial turning ma-neuver,turning circle maneuver, zigzag maneuver, stopping maneuver,spiral maneu-ver and pull out test under the ballast and full load conditions and the IMO man- euver performance criterion in the full load conditions. Based on this automatic test system of the free running model investigated,we hope that it can be recognized as a standard test system for ship maneuveringperformance prediction.
