Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學系 === 85 === This paper provides a method for the functional synthesis during the conceptual design phase of the product creation processes. Functional synthesis provides an important constitutent of the Design Methodology. Before establishing the function structure, the design briefswith design concepts are interpreted. The semantic librariesare included to aid analyzing design attributes. Comparingthe keywords from the interpretation and functional specification in the library of the default product, a reference model is selected. After the characteristics ofthe input and output are matched with the reference model, elementary functional modules are built.Functional moduleconsists of functional units, including a core function, boundary functions for input and output, and also some auxiliary and transient functions. After the relationships between functional modules are clarified, functional units are connected together in their boundaries. At last, a functional structure which satisfies the original design needs is established. A drill press is used as an example to verify the feasibility of the algorithm.
