The experiments were carried out under various pH valuesto investigate the efficiencies of decomposition, dechlorination and mineralization of 2-chlorophenol by Ozone and UV/Ozone processes. The addition of ions had slight influence on the decomposition of 2-chlorophenol by Ozone and UV/Ozone processes. By adding ferrousions would promote the mineralization of organic by UV/O3 processesunder acidic conditions. Organic intermediates were not mineralizedcompletely by Oozne and UV/Ozone processes in alkaline solutions. The kinetic models were found to fit well in modeling the temporal behaviors of reacting species on the decomposition of 2-chlorophenolby O3 and UV/O3 processes. The addition of t-butanol altered the surfacetension of aqueous solutions and promote the decomposition of 2-chlorophenol in both Ozone and UV/Ozone processes, but it couldinhibit the dechlorination under the situation of chemical controlled region.
