In controller-parameter design, the parameters are determined using conventional frequency-domain analysis and root locus method. Incontroller-parameter auto-tuning, three methods are proposed in this thesis. The controller parameter can be automatically tuned by the proposed methods without complicated computation. By developing the automatic parameter identification for induction motor and the auto-tuning method for controller parameters, the self-commissioning purpose can be accomplished. In the experimental setup, the control program is developed on the single chip microprocessor, INTEL 80196MC. The experimental hardware is the Microtrend UT-96 servo drive. The controller parameter design and auto-tuning is simulated by MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed methods have good performance under no-load and loading condition.
