KIUCHI et al. to develop an analy- itical model of complex extrusion of multi-billets. In complex extrusion of multi- billets forming process,two billets are extruded through die simultane-lousiy then combined to the desired dimension.During the extrusion process, several process variables always affect the desired quality of product, such as cone angle of the die, cross section reduction ratio, friction coefficient, billets and die dimension, ratio of the strength of two metal,initial veloci- ty of billet and velocity variationon the interface of bonding. In this study, some of the process variables are fixed,the velocity varia- tion on the interface of bonding is only independent variable considered in the simulation.Using the simplex method to find the minimum energy of deform- ation and optimal proces variable during extrusion. Furthermore, some experiments are performed by using lead and tin,from the result of the extrudes metal and bonding condition of the interface, we can verify the usefulness of the analytical model developed in this study.
