moving vehicleload is studied. The bridge is simplified to be
a non-uniform beam ,and the irregularity of the beam is assumed
to be a Markov process. The deflections of the beam are
formulated by using the finite element method. The
timeevolutions of the means and variances of the system
responses are evaluated byusing the space state approach.In
addition,the stiffness of beam is considered to be random,
and the effects of that on the system responses are analyzed
by using the proposed recursive technique. Several numerical
results havebeen presented to compute the responses statistics
of the system with the vel-ocity of the vehicle the cross
section of the beam ,etc. as parameters.
