Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 應用化學研究所 === 85 === Erythrina variegata Linn. var. orientalis (L.) Merr. (Leguminosae) is a large deciduous tree distributed along streams near the seashore of Taiwan. It is also often planted in garden and roadside, and has a foudoric reputation for medicinal properties such as anti-rheumatism, circulation promoting and insecticidal activities. From the methanolic extracts of the stem bark of Erythrina variegata Linn. var. orientalis (L.) Merr., seven components were obtained. These components are including phytosterols (campesterol, stigmasterol, β-sitosterol), 3-epi-lupeol, lup-20(29)-en-3-one, lupeol, β-amynn, oleanolic acid, olean-12-en-3β, 28-diol and long chain ester offerulic acid. Further chromatographed the acetone soluble fraction of this plant, two isoflavonoids were obtained. These compounds are 5, 4'-dihydroxy-8-(3"'-methyl-2"'-butenyl)-[2", 2"-dimethyl-pyrano(5", 6" : 6, 7) ]isoflavone and 5, 4'-dihydroxy-6-(2"'-hydroxy-3"'-methyl-3'"-butenyl)- [2", 2"-dimethylpyrano (6", 5" : 7, 8)]isoflavone. These structures were identified by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Among the above components, lup-20(29)-en-3-one, lupeol, p-amyrin and 5, 4'-daiydroxy-6-(2'"-hydroxy-3'"-methyl-3"'-butenyl)-[2", 2"-dimethylpyrano(6", 5" : 7, 8) ]isoflavone were first isolated from this plant.
