Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 物理學系 === 85 === We introduce Haldane's definition of the fractional exclusion statistics which is reformed as a generalization of the Pauli exclusion principle and is independent of the dimension of space. Particles which obey fractional exclusion statistics are called g-ons. We then apply such statistics to derive the occupation-number distribution in an ideal g-on gas with or without mutual statistics. We discuss some thermodynamic properties of an ideal g-on gas in two conditions. One is at low temperatures and high densities and the other is at high temperatures and low densities. We also discuss the low temperature properties, such as the Landau-de Haas-van Alphen effect, of a two-dimensional g-on gas in a uniform magnetic field. Finally we study the mass-radius and the mass-central density relationships of white dwarf-like stars of g-ons.
