碩士 === 淡江大學 === 國際事務與戰略研究所 === 85 === AbstractContrast the trend of reconciliatory in the post-cold war period, the ROC(Taiwan) still has faced a serious armed treat from the PRC(China).A famous example is " Missile Crisis of Taiwan Strait, " China hold aseries of military exercises including missile tests that obviouslyshowed China wanted to interfere the Taiwan''''s President Campaign onMarch 1996.This thesis focus on the Taiwan''''s future defense policy in the next century. The frame of this study work, on the other side, reflects obviously the attempts of author to explore unfold and unknow doctrines of the future war in a new century.In other words, this thesis tries to set the future strength of thePLA and the possible change of model of war as two major variable elements to defense strategy of Taiwan, and affords some suggestionsto meet the military challenges in the future.
