TES. According to the motives and purposes, thestudy focuses on
the following issues: the degree of understanding PSTs haveof
TES; the degree of contentment PSTs have with TES; the
relationship betweenthe degree of understanding and contentment
PSTs have of/with TES; the rolesof principals in the entire
process of teachers'''''''' employment; the status quo ofPSTs'''''''' working
morale; the differences of working morale among PSTs with
variousdegrees of understanding and contentment they have of/
with TES; the relation-ship between PSTs'''''''' working morale and
TES. The study adopts documentation app-roach and questionnaire
method, in which we made a survey of 1,053 public pri-mary
school teachers in Taiwan, including Taipei and Kaohsiung city.
The con-clusions of the study are as follows: 1. PSTs only have
a vague understandingof TES in the Teachers'''''''' Law. 2. About 57.7
percent of the sample PSTs expressdiscontentment with TES, which
is about to be put into effect. 3. The degreeof understanding
PSTs have of TES varies strikingly with that of contentmentPSTs
have with TES. 4. PSTs'''''''' working morale varies distinguishably
with thedegree of understanding they have of TES. 5. PSTs''''''''
working morale also variesnoticeably with the degree of
contentment they have with TES. 6. PSTs'''''''' work-ing morale will be
remarkably affected by the degrees of understanding
andcontentment they have of/with TES.
